Team Development Event at Center Parcs

We've just returned from a team event we have run at Center Parcs , Longleat for a client of ours. I must say that this is the first event we have run at any of the Center Parcs in the UK and we were very impressed with the not only the facilities but more importantly the quality of the customer service. We were struck by the hospitality of every staff member we came into contact with. This even included the 17 year old student on his  Saturday cleaning job. Not only was he extremely helpful in giving directions to the booked conference rooms but was more than happy to strike up a conversation and showed a real interest in the group and what they were doing.

Our compliments to the Human Resources team at Center Parcs as their people development training seems to be very successful.

The Awards Keep Coming!

Award winning Call of the Wild who are current National Team Building Company of the Year and Welsh Small Business of the Year have picked up 2 more awards this week. In a celebration of what is best in  Wales at the Swansea Bay Awards Call of the Wild were awarded the "Best Use of Technology Award". This award was to highlight those who have successfully integrated ITC within thier business development or who have shown to be further developed than other businesses within their sector.

The judges acknowledged that our online training and development academy was particularly innovative and ground breaking. This combined with our significant invetsment in Customer Relationship Management Systems and e-marketing contributed to us winning this prestigious award. This was pleasing given we were shortlisted with the National Waterfront Museum For Wales who have invested many millions in their ITC processes.

Not only was this a wonderful acheivement but we were also commended in the Co-Operating to Compete category. This was awarded to the business that has consistently demonstated a willingness to engage with a wide range of partners and initiatives for the greater benefit of the wider  Welsh economy.

Upskill Your Workforce Says PM Gordon Brown

Gordon Brown has urged businesses to continue to upskill the nation's workforce as the economy plunges further into recession.

Speaking at the annual CBI conference in London, the prime minister told companies they were capable of taking the British economy through difficult times and called on them to continue to invest in employees' talent and skills to be able to compete on a global scale with emerging economies.

"Even if there had been no cyclical rise in unemployment, all of us would have to deal with the consequences of a more specialist international division of labour and the resulting restructuring of jobs, and for Britain that means investing in the new talents and skills required for the technological and creative industries," he said.

Brown added that 1 billion new jobs were being created worldwide in the new global economy, and Britain must attract its share of that flow of jobs.

The call to train up the UK's workers came as the CBI urged the government to help prevent small firms collapsing in the economic downturn. CBI boss Richard Lambert warned that without help "there is a real risk we could see healthy firms going under".

Team Building Event at Glamorgan Cricket Ground

We've just delivered a team building event for a Company at the new multi million pound redeveloped Glamorgan Cricket Ground. The revamp is in prepartion to host one of the Ashes Tests to take place in the summer of 2009. Not only has the pitch and all the grandstands been relaid and rebuilt but they have also built a new indoor cricket academy. This is a great space for indoor team and corporate events. This is exactly what we used it for.

This was a large group of 80 people who were having a one day corporate meeting on the site. Therefore a large space was required. We used the indoor academy in case of inclement weather (rare in Wales we know but you can't be too careful). The client wanted to ensure that during the team builidng activities everyone was comfortable so indoors it was.

It's certainly a venue we will will seek to use again team builidng events, corporate events and meetings. It worked really well particularly if the weather is an issue.
